PORTRAIT STUDIES........AGES - TODDLER THRU PRE-K

Our Portrait Study is a Photographic session conducted entirely outdoors. The purpose is to capture a child's normal and spontaneous poses and expressions in a non-threatening atmosphere.

Basically it is a time of gently guiding the child around a carefully selected area with an aim of soliciting natural poses and interesting expressions with new found discoveries.  Subjects for the study should be even tempered with some degree of following direction.  

The (one only) parent assists by gently guiding the child to various areas of the grounds which are uncomplicated, safe and interesting to the child.  All others accompanying the child are encouraged to remain at a distance.

Pre-selected props are available and the parent is required to remain close by to prevent problems.  For this study we make two to three times the normal number of exposures and narrow them down to about 20 poses. You may bring toys, pets or props that will be complimentary but encouraged to leave security blankets, etc. at home.

The child should not be hungry, tired or sick.  A good nap is suggested if the child normally gets ill when tired or sleepy. This is a very demanding photographic session but one that can be very rewarding to the parent if successful.

These poses are put on a DVD that the parent can view on our monitor, take home to view and select a pose or poses for a composite or individual portraits.  There should be at least three complete changes of clothes during the session.  They should range from dressy to casual and play.

When the session is completed, the parent is satisfied that sufficient, and satisfying images have been recorded for the intended purpose, we discuss the desired purchase based on the following prices:

Session charge ...$129.95.  This includes one hour+ time at our location, a DVD of the images, previews of the favorite 20 poses and three 8 X 10 units.  Additional brothers or sisters photographed during the same session adds $25 per child.  If the session is at your location (INSIDE LEWIS COUNTY, TN) the travel and time charge is an additional $20.    

An 8 X 10 Unit is:   1 - 8 X 10 or 2 - 5 X 7 or 8 - Billfold or 16 - Half billfold or 1 - 5 X 7 and 4 - Billfold.                              They may be in color, classic Black and White or Antique Sepiatone.

                             Additional 8 X 10 units are: $20 ea.  (if ordered later..$25 plus shipping)

                                   Larger sizes if ordered at the same time as the 8 X 10 units:  

           11 X 14.....1 for $35.00 , 2 for $50.00 (mounted to heavy board and protective coating)
                    16 X 20....1 for $65.00 (mounted to heavy board and protective coating)
              All sizes, if ordered at a later time will have $15 shipping added to the total reorder.

                Minor scratches, blemishes or discolorations are removed at no additional charge.

Payment is made as follows:

You will view the poses on our monitor in 72 hours.  At that time, if you are satisfied that we have a good selection of poses, you will pay one-third.  Within 10 days or less you may pick up your proofs and a DVD.   Pay an additional one-third.  When you decide on an order, just call, give us the pose numbers and order.  The balance is due on delivery.
If, after viewing your poses on our monitor, you are not satisfied that you have a good selection of poses, you pay nothing and receive nothing.
"No other still or movie cameras are allowed during the photo session."

If two or more Portrait Studies for friends are booked and they are pleased with their views as a result of your satisfaction and recommendation, you will receive a 25% discount from your next session.

At times there will be an assistant photographer, in training, doubling the available poses.  She is a Pre-K teacher with a masters degree in education and certification in early childhood development and very good behind the camera (my daughter).  My wife also helps and works with the LC School System special needs children.
